National Cadet Corps (NCC)

Youth Wing of the Armed Forces | Motto: “Unity and Discipline”

The National Cadet Corps is the largest uniformed youth organization in India. It functions under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, with its Headquarters in New Delhi.

The NCC unit of E.M.E.A College provides students with opportunities to develop leadership, discipline, and a spirit of national service.

About NCC

• Open to school and college students on a voluntary basis
• A Tri-Services organization comprising Army, Navy, and Air Wings
• Aims to develop discipline, leadership qualities, and patriotism
• Provides basic military training including drill, parades, and small arms training
• No compulsory obligation for active military service after completion

NCC Motto

“Unity and Discipline”

The motto was officially adopted during the 12th Central Advisory Committee Meeting held on 12 October 1980.

The motto signifies:

• Promotion of national unity among youth from diverse backgrounds
• Development of discipline, responsibility, and character
• Strengthening of secular values, teamwork, and leadership skills

EMEA College NCC Unit

• Year of Establishment: 2013
• Total Intake Capacity: 54 Cadets
• Annual Intake: 18 Cadets per year
• 2018–19 Enrollment Date: 30 July 2018

Recruitment Process

• More than 120 students participated in the selection process
• 18 students were enlisted based on physical test and interview
• A ceremonial function was conducted, during which 13 cadets were assigned ranks and responsibilities

Objectives of the NCC Unit

• To develop leadership qualities and organizational skills
• To instill discipline and a sense of responsibility
• To prepare youth for national emergencies
• To encourage participation in camps, social service, and community development

Students are encouraged to enroll in NCC to enhance their personality, leadership potential, and sense of national commitment.
