The Bachelor of Degree in Economics at EMEA College of Arts & Science offer a unique opportunity for students to display ingenuity and innovation. It is a program that educates students in problem solving in the most inspired way, focusing on both the academic and applied branches of Economics. Being closely linked with the behavior of the human beings, the governments, the industry etc. Students are constantly being exposed to the latest developments in the field of Economics. In addition, the department enables them to keep abreast with the most current theoretical and practical aspects in economics.

For Undergraduate Programme : A Pass in Higher Secondary Course

Program structure

It also provides Basic information about Modern India’s History and Indian Constitution and Political Science. During their Fifth and Last Semesters they will concentrate on Core Courses, Open Course, and an Elective Course. The Core Courses include Economics of Capital Market, Macroeconomics, India‘s Economic Development, International Economics, Mathematical Economics, Public Finance, And Development Economics. The Open Course now providing is Economics in Everyday life and the Elective Course is Economics of Business and Finance. Students are also want to complete a dissertation work during the last Semester.

Being closely linked with the behavior of the human beings, the governments, the industry etc, students are constantly being exposed to the latest developments in the field of Economics.In addition, the department enables them to keep abreast with the most current theoretical and practical aspects in economics. It provides an in-depth insight of finance and management sectors and develops the skills of a student so that they are able to face any challenge in the industry. The programme teaches the latest principles of economic theory through practical learning to students with the help of various internship programmes, workshops, seminars etc.

Entry Requirements

For Post Graduate Programme : A Pass in BA Economics Programme or A Pass in B Sc Statistics With 60 % Marks.

Program structure

To complete the Post Graduate Programme in Economics a student must accumulate a total of 64 credits during the four semester period. The first year of the study enables the students to equip knowledge in deep in the courses like Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Indian Economy, Public Finance and Quantitative Methods for Economic Analysis. During the second year of the study the students have to acquire in depth knowledge in the specialized courses of International Trade, Growth & Development, Banking, Basic Econometrics, International Finance, Financial Markets, Mathematical Economics and Research Methodology. They have to prepare and submit a thesis report also.
