The commerce club is one of the earliest clubs of EMEA College of Arts and Science, Kondotty, constituted in the year 2004-05, the main objectives of the club is to build up a common platform for the overall development of commerce students of this college. The organizers hope to open up the vistas of activities to nearby colleges also.Commerce’ Club strives to make the students to go beyond the classroom learning and to think ingeniously to confidently face the ever changing demands of the commercial world and to prove themselves as the best business leaders.'

ACTIVITIES OF THE CLUB

  • Activities of commerce club commence on the day of interview on which students are admitted to first B.Com and M.Com class. A ‘help desk’ service is provided to guide the new comers and their parents.
  • On the first day of first B.Com, M.Com class each year, the students of the class along with their parents/guardian will have to gather for two hours. The session intends to cater to the needs of the students regarding their future prospectus. All the members of the program can clarify their doubts. All faculty members of the department take part in the session. Appropriate slide shows help to pin point major details.
  • A class arouse the motivation of newcomers is proposed to conducted within one month for new comers.
  • To change the mind set on the negative attitude prevailing in the state for taking up entrepreneurship as a career.
  • A reading room for the commerce students is arranged in front of the department. Leading news-papers and periodicals in English and Malayalam along with major periodicals on commerce subject are kept in the reading room.
  • The club helps for the maintenance of text book library of the Department of Commerce
  • All general activities of the College will have a ‘commerce touch’ with the active participation of the members of club. From the year of its inception to date, the Onam celebrations held before the Onam vacation have been notable with the active participation of selected members in various competitive items.
  • ‘ComMet’, the commerce and management meet of the Department is to be conducted with the active supervision of commerce club members.

OFFICE BEARES AND CONSTITUTION OF THE CLUB

  • To organize the activities of the club, the following arrangement is made:
  • The president, the secretary and the treasurer to be elected from among the Final year B.Com students
  • Three Vice-presidents and three Joint-secretaries are to be other important officials.
  • In addition to the above, five members each from each semester B.com classes to from the executive body of the club.
  • The General Body to include all the B.Com students of the college.
  • The Executive Committee is to meet once in very month and General Body twice in a year
