February 18, 2026As part of the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) initiative, the Department of English, in association with the Literary Club and Theatre Club, is organising a Drama Fest on Indian Cultures on 13th February, Friday.
The event will feature performances by UG and PG students of the Department of English, including adaptations from the Mahabharata, Yayati by Girish Karnad, Nagamandala by Girish Karnad, Chitra by Rabindranath Tagore, and Dance Like a Man by Mahesh Dattani, highlighting theatre as a vital medium of Indian knowledge and cultural transmission, while also serving as an Experiential Learning initiative.
These performances foreground indigenous systems of knowledge embedded in ethics, aesthetics, gender discourse, oral traditions, and classical art forms, presenting theatre as a living and evolving Indian knowledge system.
